Getting Ready For New Years Eve

Hello lovelys! As you all know in just over five hours it will be 2014! How scary is that?!
I am going out tonight to celebrate the new year with some of my best friends from secondary school who I haven't seen in ages so I'm really excited to see them all. I'm not actually going out until half past eight but I got ready early so I could take some pictures and share my outfit and make up with all of you! Enjoy!

I hope you all approve of my outfit selection, the dress I'm wearing I found in the January sale last year in Topshop and seen as I stupidly left my black heels in Newcastle I've borrowed Mum's from Dorothy Perkins. I'm not sure where the bag is from because Mum bought me it a few years ago for Christmas, unfortunately it is not Chanel. If you can't see the names of any of the products I used or want to know prices etc please don't hesitate to ask.
I hope where ever you all are you have a wonderful New Years Eve and I wish you a happy and prosperous 2014. Love Holly x

Christmas Photo Diary!

I'd like to start this post by saying Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all had wonderful days spent with your family and friends and, if you're like me and your eyes are bigger than your stomach, spent the entire day in a constant food coma. Because if Christmas is not the time for over eating, when is?!
If you follow me on Twitter you'll know that I spent Christmas with some of my dearest friends in their new cottage in North Yorkshire. I grew up with this family being only a ten minute walk way from my house and then in August they decided to move to village which it takes and hour to get to, by car! My family was heart broken so to make it up to us, they offered to have us for Christmas under one condition: no pressure.
They are currently renovating the house and there are millions of boxes everywhere so they said we could only come if we didn't mind slumming it, and it was glorious. We had the most chilled Christmas ever (no pun intended) with films and gooey cheese on Christmas Eve to a lovely church service and a spaced out meal on Christmas Day followed by charades and me and Emma making White(Green) Spiders.
It was one of the most lovely Christmases we've ever had because we were all so calm and it was lovely to see our friends again because now they live far away we don't see them much, especially as Amy, Emma and I are all at university. So here is my photo dairy of a wonderfully relaxed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Enjoy!

 Charades!

So there you go, this was my Christmas and it was wonderful, we're back at home now and my Grandparents, my Uncle and his partner are all coming for a meal tonight, I'll have to dress up a bit more for this one rather than just a t-shirt and jeans like Christmas Day (what? we said no pressure!) so maybe I'll share my outfit with you guys. Tomorrow all hell is going to break loose as ten of our cousins and aunties descend on us for a weekend of madness and hilarity so I probably won't be able to blog much, but in the mean time I hope this suffices! I hope you all enjoy this festive period and have time to recover from your hangovers, it might take me a week to recover from this next weekend!

The Usual Suspects

After my last post I thought I should show you my most common look, admittedly not very creative but its comfortable for every day shenanigans.

Pictures by my brother, thank you Will! Let me know what you think of this look, unadventurous as it may be!

What A Freak!

Welcome to A Freak For Fashion! I'm Holly and I'm delighted to meet you all! I think an introduction is in order don't you?
I'm 18 years load and I'm from Bradford in West Yorkshire, England. I was raised in the country at state schools and now I'm studying my first year of Fashion Communication at university in Newcastle.
So, fashion. Well lets just say I'm working on it, I don't really know how to define my style because I don't really have one. I say I'm a bit punky because I love punk, the style, the music but thats not my only source of inspiration. I am punky in the sense that my usual look consists of a t-shirt I've bought at a rock concert combined with skinny jeans, a leather jacket, Doc Marten boots and a checkered shirt but I do try to look more sophisticated and dress more elegantly from time to time. However my complete lack of grace kind of killed that dream.
I don't really have a style and I don't want one, I'd rather be lots of things instead of just one, but I say I'm working on it because I'm really not as creative as I should be with my dress, but I want to be. It's coming up to a new year and I haven't really given it much thought apart from my goals of being better with my studies and my fashion. I want to be more creative and inspired and that is my reason for starting this blog. I've discovered some wonderful blogs recently and they have really helped fuel my imagination and so I thought why not document my journey from where my wardrobe is now and where I want it to be, maybe I'll even inspire a few of you.
So, will you join me on this voyage? I'd be honoured if you did and you will literally be helping me achieve my dreams. I'm going to try my very best to blog as much as I can sharing with you what I'm wearing, what has inspired me, photo diaries, street style, any new looks or creative techniques I discover and just anything fashion related. I'd love it if you would join me on this adventure.
